Selection process

Office Assistant: online Preliminary (qualifying, minimum cut-off in both tests), then online Main; provisional allotment on Main marks alone, within the RRBs of the State/UT opted, subject to actual vacancies and reservation. Officer Scale I: online Preliminary (qualifying), then online Main; candidates who clear the minimum score in each Main test, up to three times the declared vacancies per State subject to availability, are called for the Common Interview (100 marks; minimum 40%, 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD); the final score combines Main and Interview in the ratio 80:20; allotment is by merit-cum-preference. A reserve list is drawn and is valid up to one year after the allotment. Offers and joining are decided by the allotted RRB, which can reject a candidature.

Who is eligible for IBPS RRB (Office Assistant and Officer Scale I)?

Education: Office Assistant: Bachelor's degree in any discipline; proficiency in the local language of the State (studied it in class VIII or above, or a certificate to that effect; six months after joining to acquire it otherwise); working knowledge of computers is desirable. Officer Scale I: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preference for Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, IT, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy); local-language proficiency as above. The result must have been declared on or before the last date of registration (stated as 21-09-2026 in the XV notification). Scale II and III have extra experience and 50% marks conditions (see the notification). Age limit: As on 01-09-2026 (CRP XV): Office Assistant 18 to 28 years (born 02-09-1998 to 01-09-2008); Officer Scale I above 18 and below 30 (born 02-09-1996 to 01-09-2008). Upper-limit relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years, PwBD 10 years; for Office Assistants also ex-servicemen (service + 3 years, max 50) and widows/divorced/judicially separated women (up to 35 General/EWS, 38 OBC, 40 SC/ST). Attempts: The notification states no limit on the number of attempts. Nationality: Citizen of India, subject of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01-01-1962 to settle permanently, or person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries to settle in India (the last three groups need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India).
